This large detached house was known in Georgian times as Lobster Hall. It subsequently became Springhill school throughout the 1800s and eventually Whitby's Liberal Club after the First World War. The modern, comfortable and bright rooms retain the influence of the original Georgian Style.

There are twelve double room all of which have an en-suite shower room, central heating, colour television and tea and coffee hospitality tray.

Breakfast and Dinner are served in the restaurant. The restaurant and the bar are situated at nearby Bagdale Hall.

There is ample free car parking at The Lodge.
